Ceramic heaters are one of our favourites. Ideal sole heater that can be used for many diurnal basking species of lizards, tortoises and even some snakes. They can also be used for the more tropical species of snakes such as many boas and pythons. Heat mats are a misunderstood heater - great for some species - but not all. They work best attached to the floor of vivaria and the most suited species are crepuscular species such as Leopard geckos and Corn snakes. They are designed to heat up a solid object (ie your reptile) and have a minimal effect on ambient air temperature. Used correctly, for the right species they are a great product. We stock the market leader of heat mats Habimat, but also the other (that are quickly catching up!!) brands such as Lucky Reptiles, Komodo and the like. Various sizes available, from tiny to huge.

We have various thermostats from Habistat, Lucky Reptiles and Komodo. Remember that they all have differing jobs - dimming stats are for bulbs, Mat stats for mats etc. Our personal favourite at the moment is the Lucky reptile Thermo II. Keeps day time and night time differing temperatures, built in clock and alarm and digital temperature read out. Easy to use too.
