Reptile Seminars
A new aid in the North East for veterinary practises, pet shops and even private reptile keepers
A new venture, riding alongside Kevin Stevens lecturing ability is an idea that has been on the back burner for some time. Lectures provide an opportunity to give a brief insight, but do not allow the time to expand the larger picture. Day long seminars make sure attendants leave with not only snippets of retained knowledge but have a full grasp and understanding of reptiles, their needs and behaviours. Kevin is a well known herpetologist, not only well known for his shop, Coast to Coast Exotics, but also as former President and Journal Editor of the International Herpetological Society and committee member of the Federation of British Herpetologists. He has authored many articles for journals, magazines etc and has been a consultant and appeared on several films and TV programmes. Seminars can be in several forms and at most levels. Kevin Stevens is an experienced lecturer having spoke on various herpetological subjects at prestigious events such as British Herpetological Society Symposiums right through to veterinary collages, and to reptile club meetings. Subjects are usually general herptile husbandry, and the effects and consequences of incorrect techniques but various other topics will also be tackled with similar enthusisasm. Each aspect of the seminar can be based upon slide material or much more hands on with animals, equipment and the like brought along and used. Especially suitable for small animal care national diplomas, veterinary nurse education and as an aid to veterinarians in not only diagnosing common problems but an insight and understanding into how the various conditions come about. A highly political notion, but shops and other commercial operations will be catered for too. The course for shops not only covers common ailments, their causes and the like but also how to sell herptiles profitably. A subject in its self, but some guidance and help on the forth coming new regulations that will effect all pet shop license holders will be worth the course fee alone. Why wait, implement it all now! Fees will vary, special offers from time to time will effect the overall costing too. As a general rule of thumb; beginners to intermediate hobbyists one day course will cost £50 each minimum of eight persons. Shops one day course will be £100, four people must be in attendance. Veterinarian nurses one day course will be £150, up to eight but around four to six people preferred. All fees include lunch, refreshments and free entrance into the reptile and other animal exhibits housed within the lecture facility. Please direct any enquiries by clicking Contact Us |
