Appointment tips:

 

  1. Confirm appointment - strongly i.e. - "Just confirming I will be there TIME DATE look forward to meeting you".
  2. Arrive dead on time or 5 mins early
  3. Keep focus on why you are here and what you want to achieve
  4. Look around, ask questions when waiting, read any literature
  5. Smile, introduce self, "nice to meet you"
  6. Take notes (good tip - ask is it OK if I take some notes?)
  7. Start with questions about the business then questions about the person you are talking too - get a clear picture of what they do
  8. Now ask questions about the company web site i.e. what is the domain name, how long live, what did it cost, who updates it, is it working, are you showing in search engines
  9. THEN - What do you want your site to achieve for you - dig deep, get them to come up with ideas.  Paint the picture what it will be like with with an easy to up-date site and to show in the engines
  10. Once you have a picture of what your client wants you can briefly tell them what we specialise in - show the price list at this time or make an appointment to come back with a proposal - we will help you write it and present it.  If asked and time allows show the client some sample sites - If asked demo how easy it is to change (Just change one main page with text only)  Leave them on a high
  11. NOW you know what they want don’t you? - you know our products don’t you  - match them and take the order
  12. Always make an appointment before you leave
  13. Call into three businesses when you come out of your appointment.  Find out who there are and who deals with the website.  Tell them you are working with ABC Company next door
