As a Britnett-Carver user you have the ability to add data to your site easily using the CMS (Content Management System).  The data you add is valuable therefore backup of your data is important.

Your Backup Options:

Website Data Backup
Britnett-Carver has a standard feature to back up your site onto the server.  Britnett recommend you use this feature to create backup of your site as you use the CMS.  Once you get your site to a point you are happy with it; simply click Create Backup. System Admin > Database > Create Backup.  This way if you make a mistake you can Restore From Backup as needed. If in the event of a server failure this Backup would be lost.  Britnett Support  strongly recommend that ALL clients - especially larger and/or more 'active' clients (i.e. the ones who tend to make frequent changes/additions to their sites) backup their data ONCE A DAY, preferably at the end of the day.  Also it is essential that all website content is stored separately.

Server Data Backup

As part of the Britnett Carver Support Host all Britnett websites are saved and backed up each day at the server.  So in the event of a server failure, site failure or corruption your website could be restored to it last backup time which will be within the last 24 hours.  If an individual back up is requested by the client a fee applies.

Separate Data Backup
As with all computer programs any data added should always be backed up.  It is the clients responsibility to have a data backup of the website.  This data backup should be kept off-site and updated daily (as often as you feel necessary).  Good practice is to have one folder on your PC dedicated to website data.  Add any data to be added to the site to this file first.  When you do use the CMS system- pull the data from this dedicated folder.  All content for the website will originate on a PC anyway, simply get into the habit of saving all website data to the dedicated folder.  This folder along with all your office files should be backed up often.  TIP - An external hard drive for backup purposes can be purchased for about £50.00.

FTP Data Backup
If requested Britnett will provide a full FTP (File Transfer Protocall) back up on CD.  A standard fee applies.
