This Page Contains a List of Recent FAQ.  Frequent Asked Questions about BizSub Search Engine Optimisation.

Q - My site is in BizSub but I cant find my site when searching Google?

A - A common question.  First how long have you been in BizSub.  We are in the hands of the search engines, it can take 3-7 months to get a site Cached in Google for example.  Some SEO companies will quote up to two years to get a site correctly indexed.  Most BizSub clients will be found by the specified phrases within seven months.  Make sure you are searching for your site using the search phrases Britnett have on-file for you.  If these ever change or you want to be reminded what they are please contact your local Authorised Agent.

Q - Britnett state that with BizSub Britnett submit to between 900 and 1000 directories. How many of these are FFA directories and how many of other types.

A - There are about 80 actual search engines that we submit to, about 120 directories, and over 800 FFA sites.

Q - What other types of directories does Britnett BizSub submit to monthly?

A - These are just the 120 included in the submission - but we do recommend that the client/ Agent in BizSub manually add their own site with a link on local portals/directories - as this can help ranking.

Q - I have looked at the Google website and some other technical ones about the Google algorithms. It appears that an entry in DMOZ is crucial – for some reason this is given a high value in the algorithm. Once this is done, does it need repeating monthly?

A - BizSub submits to the DMOZ directory after we have completed optimisation work on the BizSub Client site - once you submit to DMOZ - which is ran voluntarily - it will become indexed in their database - once it is in there it does not need re-submitting every month.

Q - What about Free For All directories, I have done some checking on the web, and with your initial explanation of them how we manage the response e-mails. Is it the FFA that we need to submit monthly to retain value? I have also read that these do not get a high rank value as a link in, but is it sheer numbers we are aiming for?

A - Exactly right - they are temporary pages that change on a daily basis - but can be scanned and read by the engines - which can help in the long term ranking of the clients site. Although they are not too important, we find that with every submission a site can grow stronger with the help of being included on some FFA sites.

Q - You told me some time ago that directories clear entries every 4-6 weeks or so, so we need to re-submit. Which ones does this apply to – is it the FFA ones or others as well.

A - This applies to both the directories and the FFA sites - this is why we submit every 4-5 weeks - keeps them updated and a chance for another link to be placed on any one of these sites.

Q - According to Google, apart from incoming links, the title tags, followed by header tags then body text are important. Google does not read the keywords and descriptions. But is this the case with MSN, Yahoo etc – do they use these other tags.

A - Most important thing I would say would be the TITLE tags, by far. Keywords and descriptions are there only as a guide for search engines to get an idea of what the site is about. I would say that the two most important things for gaining excellent results are a descriptive TITLE bar and lots, and lots of content on the site - nothing as far as I'm concerned can beat a good title and heaps of into on the homepage that matches this title. The more matches the better - which WILL result in a higher ranking.
