Spinal and Joint Pain

Low back pain is exceptionally common and most of us will suffer at some point in our lives.  A lot of pain will ease on its own but there will always be the episode which does not go away and then Osteopathy can be of help.

The Osteopath can expertly assess the spine and all it’s movements plus the muscles and ligaments around it. Also an Osteopath will assess the entire body in relation to the back as we always look as the body as a whole and things like a bad knee or short leg can have a direct effect on low back and spinal pain.

We can treat sciatica as well plus disc problems. Arthritic spinal joints respond well to Osteopathic treatment and there are many exercises and postural and lifestyle tips which can help to maintain these conditions.

We treat the whole spine so can also work on neck and mid back pain as effectively as low back pain.

If we feel that an x-ray or hospital referral is necessary we will advise the patient and continue treatment afterwards if it is appropriate.

At The Brook Health Centre we receive many referrals from the GP’s of patients with back pain and we are usually able to help them very successfully.
