Around 9 minutes away from Eden Tree set at the foot of the spectacular Wimmats Pass, high above the village of Castleton is Speedwell Cavern. Here you can take an incredible underground boat boat journey. View their website for more details.

 

Chatsworth House

25 minutes away is Chatsworth House which is one of Britain’s best loved historic houses and estates. they offer something for everyone to enjoy, from famous works of art, young animals and the spectacular fountains in the garden to the finest shopping, food and drink and many miles of free walks. The home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire is set in the magnificent landscape of Derbyshire’s Peak District National Park.

 

 

Gullivers Kingdom

Gulliver’s Matlock Bath is around 40 minutes away and is nestled in a stunning hillside where much of the magic comes from the amazing scenery and views. Gullivers will take you away from your daily worries and concerns and into a world of wonder and fantasy, where anything is possible and your imagination is inspired. 

 

Peak Rail

35 minutes away is Peak Rail. They run regular Steam and Diesel hauled heritage passenger trains between Matlock Riverside and Rowsley. A large car park at Rowsley makes it an ideal way to beat the traffic jams to get into Matlock. They also offer an on train dining service on selected trains, and footplate experience courses, where you can get your hands on a steam engines controls. Special events are featured at different times of the year, Santa Specials run through December.

 

 

Calke Abbey

Around 20 Minutes away is Calke Abbey. Here you can enter a world where time has stood still since the 1920's; a country estate preserved as found, telling the tale of an eccentric reclusive family. It is one of the national Trusts most child-friendly and fun properties. It is a Baroque mansion with unique collections of curiosities with a Stunning 18th-century Chinese silk bed, invisible corridors, underground tunnels and a secret garden, enchanting walled-gardens and restored Orangery. Calke Park is a National Nature Reserve set in over 600 acres

Kedleston Hall  Kedleston Hall: 1 hour away is this splendid 18th Century neoclassical hall in a picturesque setting over 800 acres of parkland and pleasure grounds. The 18th Century housekeeper' Mrs Garnett, welcomes you to the Hall, where you can discover the most complete sequence of Robert Adam interiors in the country containing their original furniture and paintings. Four different walks allow you to explore the 800 acre park, while the garden has been restored to an 18th Century Pleasure Grounds full of interesting trees and plants, A virtual tour, housed in the smoking room, will give visitors who cannot limb the stairs an insight into the State floor.

  • 6 Minutes away is The High Peak Estate - See the rolling waves of heather moorland, take in the breathtaking views and explore the habitats of many unusual and internationally important plants,animals and birds.

 

  • 12 Minutes away is The Longshaw Estate - Walk the maze of quiet paths through the woods and discover a host of archaeological curiosities. Afterwords visit the well-stocked gift shop and tea-room.
