Reflexology

Ancient texts and pictures show that early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians and Egyptians applied pressure to the feet to promote good health. Today many of these techniques have been developed in to a modern scientific method called reflexology.

Reflexology works on the basis that the body has the ability to heal itself. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, the body is in a state of imbalance and vital energy pathways are blocked preventing optimum performance. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body’s natural equilibrium and encourage healing.

The sensitive trained hands of the reflexologist can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet. By working on these points blockages can be released, restoring the free flow of energy to the whole body and so promoting pain relief, relaxation and general well being.

Reflexology is effective in the treatment of digestive disorders including constipation. It can assist with coughs and colds, hayfever and sinusitis. Reflexology is effective in treating the headaches and migraine which are often associated with these disorders. Insomnia, stress, anxiety and depression also all respond well to reflexology treatments. As it is a completely natural, drug free treatment reflexology is very suitable for the treatment of infertility and pre-conception care as well as the induction of labour and can help with many common problems associated with pregnancy, for example, swollen ankles and heartburn. It is also helpful during menopause.
