Staff- Our Team Policies and Regulations Activities Early Years FoundationPolicies and RegulationsParents are advised to familiarise themselves with our policy documents, a comprehensive set of documents (that may take time to read). The following are elements taken from some of the policies as an indication of their contents. Partnership with parents: Parents/carers will be fully informed of their childs activities and progress and will be encouraged to visit the setting both when seeking a place for their child and during his/her time at the setting. The setting shall be open and welcoming to parents/carers regardless of their class, status, race, sex, age and cultural or religious background as reflected in the settings Equal Opportunity Policy
Equal Opportunities Policy: All children will receive equal opportunities and respect regardless of their race, colour, ethnic or national origin, religious beliefs, gender, extent of any disability, appearance or economic circumstances. The setting shall value the contribution of each and every employee, parent/carer and child and each shall be treated as an individual with his or her own needs
. Health and Safety: The environment is to be safe and without risk to all children, staff and visitors. Whether we are the employer, employee or a parent/carer, or visitor to the setting we have a legal and moral duty to adhere to the Health and Safety Policy
. If there is a risk to health and safety in the setting it should be bought to the attention of the registered owners
Behaviour Management: A child must never be punished physically nor subject to humiliating or abusive statements about themselves, their lifestyle, ethnic background, status, appearance etc. A sense of right and wrong behaviour will be encouraged to develop through children being positively encouraged to co-operate in the social life of the setting. Child Protection Policy: It is important that all staff are familiar with the guidelines in relation to child protection. Children are entitled to protection from abuse, neglect and exploitation. The welfare of the child is paramount
. Special Educational Needs: This policy seeks to achieve and maintain an enriching and stimulating environment for all children. It is our belief that all children as individuals have varying needs and our aim is to promote and support inclusion. It is expected that the setting will encourage and build on what the child already knows
. A copy of the complete policy file can be read at the setting at any time. |
