Course Content

This course is suitable for experienced parentwork practitioners who may have a role in training and supervising other parentwork practitioners that may be required to deliver parenting groups. The course is interactive, provides underpinning knowledge and is practical skills based.

Course Aim

To equip and support experienced practitioners in training other practitioners working with parents to deliver parenting groups/courses 

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the course participants will be able to

• Give and receive feedback in a training situation
• Demonstrate an understanding of effective communication skills in a training situation
• Demonstrate an understanding of potential conflict situations and respond appropriately within a training session
• Demonstrate an understanding of practically setting up and managing a training session
• Practically take on the role of trainer
• Demonstrate the effective use of group-work
• Bring together effective training
• Evaluate and analyse a training session
